Another week, another cheater caught on camera down what they do, cheating. There is no excuse for this ongoing problem, WOTC MUST fix this

Oh, come on Jeremy! All he did was cheat at the game he's supposed to represent and try to steal prize money. It's not like he posted Pepe memes or tweeted mean words or voted for Trump or anything like that.

Made it to the semifinals of a PPTQ, only to have the opponent beat me in game 3; and then concede to his friend in the finals because he didn't want to actually go to the PT. Super great feeling knowing a shark has a bunch of minions blocking his opponents from playing for the win. Absolutely horrible.

Any professional caught cheating should immediately be forced to forfeit every win they’ve ever had. Give the “victory” to the man who placed 2nd. Of course you couldn’t take back the prize money, or the power 9, but you take the wins away from them. That’s what they care about more than anything, the glory of being able to say they won a GP, or placed top 8. You can do anything you want to them but until you take away the only thing they care about, the juice will continue to be worth the squeeze.

Or just fuckin ban them. That works too. Still think they should be forced to vacate their previous wins (this is probably MUCH easier said than done).

Cheating eventually becomes a habit rather than a need to win. Thank god they’re finally catching on.

Agreed, but with a warning. If you cheat once, ban for x amount of time. Make it 2 - 5 years. That was your one and only warning. Cheat again, you're done. All records of wins or top 8s from you are put on suspicion immediately, possibly revoked those wins, and you're banned for life. Banned from playing the game competitively ever again. This may include FNMs, prereleases, etc.

The two biggest reasons why I stopped playing FNM years ago was lack of money and the increase in cheating back in 2015. It's just gotten so much worse now and it's absolutely ridiculous. Also yes there is recourse to get money back, it's called Grand Theft charges and actual prison time. People will stop fucking around real quick when they realize it could land them in the slammer.

Getting caught cheating taints everything you've ever won before. How do we know you haven't always cheated? Just dumb.

I had this guy at a regular standard night at my lgs that started with the exact same hand 3 times in a row. He said he must just have “great luck”. Funnily enough, my brother was there that night and was paired with him and he said he did the same 3 hands as well.

We called him out on it and got him banned.

How lame do you have to be to cheat for a couple of dollars? We are just there to have fun.
