LYRICS

Rainy days and razor blades
I think it’s time to pull up the shades
It’s wonderful to be alive

Hurricanes and headlines
Standing in another line
It’s wonderful to be alive
Everything is gonna be alright

Don’t let em get you down
Don’t let em push you around
We’re gonna take back the night
Everything’s gonna be alright

Share your bread with friends you don’t know
Hold the truth and never let go
Don’t give up and go with what you know’s for real

Que sera and C’est la vie
Everyday’s a jubilee
It’s wonderful to be alive

Now that Billie said everything is going to be alright I feel good

Funny how the same guy who made depressing songs like Boulevard Of Broken Dreams and 21 Guns also wrote Pollyanna, one of the happiest songs I've ever heard

Definitely a change from “I insist on being a pessimist” but I’m glad Billie is so happy. I miss the 90’s era green day, but of course they’re gonna change after 30 years.
Edit: danm my most popular comment is on the Pollyanna music video, I'll take it

When we needed to be angry, green day was there.
And now when we need something good I'm the world. Green day is here.
That's why this band is immortal.

So, I went to the hella mega tour in dallas. The show was amazing and during fallout boy I got in the insane merch line. I got a t shirt for myself, a koozie for my dad, and a pennant for my room. When I left, I noticed that they gave me a 2nd pennant by mistake. At first I was gonna just keep it in a closet or something but then when listening to this song during the chorus when he says "share your bread with friends you don't know" I thought maybe I could give it to someone. So when I got back to our hotel there was another kid who complemented my green day shirt, I saw a great opportunity to do something nice I explained that the merch booth gave me an extra and asked if he wanted it. He got really excited and accepted my offer. His mom said he loved green day but the merch lines were too long. Doing nice things feels good.

The world's in a tougher situation right now but hearing Green Day say that "it's going to be fine" makes me optimistic. Thank you, Green Day. You guys will forever have a special place in my heart. Always.

This proves that live gets better. They went from "feeling like a dog in heat" to this. I'm struggling with addiction and have thought about ending it but I still have hope.

If BJ says that everything is gonna be alright I strongly believe it.

Such an underrated song, it's a return to a more classic green day feel, I don't get all the people saying it isn't green day. Same goes for the trilogy, while it definitely isn't great or even good, at points, there were some absolutely fantastic songs there. It may not be your Green Day, But this is my green day.

seeing the band grow from songs about suicide to songs about how wonderful it is to be alive mirrored my own personal journey and its a damn beautiful sound

A grandma now, and remember when my wee lass was born w/multiple life threatening problems. Moved to my mom, as she was only 5 min to hospital as many midnight crises rush to ER/A&E. Green Day had a song on radio repeat top list, and even today I listen to them, old & new, with so many memories over the year's, good & bad. It is with much maternal affection to see how wonderful Billie Joe looks, and remembering how heartbreaking it was to wish as a nana, to hug & wish him to find his inner peace, one can hope he has, and is able to continue enchanting fans for many more years. From nana's to teens, he/they have such an extraordinary gift for reaching access generations, a rare talent for a band to have, and to last for so long. Long may they continue, with much love & affection from The Weald, Kent, the garden of England:) Warmest of karma hugs to all:) XXX

Billie, Mike and Tre are more than just band members - they're Family. And it's so heartwarming to see! ❤

I was AT the show at 0:18 where the guy did a stage dive - Billie told him to do it.
I have been a Green Day fan since 2013 and I have always considered them since to be one of the greatest bands in all of history. I strongly hope next time I see them I get to play with Billie like that guy in the video did. I love you, Green Day; keep rocking and never stop. Love you lots.

I don’t know about everyone else but this really hit me, it’s like I really needed someone to tell me “it’s wonderful to be alive”, especially in a time like this

Saw them at Citi Field. I’m a huge Mets fan and huge Green Day fan. Despite covid still going strong, it was the best day of my life. Thanks Billie, Mike and Tre for putting on an amazing show!

Is there any video?

I feel like I wanna know more about their routines and other happenings during show days. From the preparation, soundcheck, split second guitar changes to the exit from the stages and calling it a day.
