Why did the light on the door come on when you started to remove the panel? The same thing happened on my car. The light on the driver's door didn't work so I started to take off the door card. After I had taken off that piece of plastic the light worked again, so I just drive around without it. Easiest fix ever :-)

All the plastic fasteners broke when I pulled the panel off after removing all the screws. Not good. My guess is that Andrew had removed the panel in the past and either broke all the fasteners or they were broken by someone else before he bought the car.

No one likes to break shit when working on a car.
