So nice to see you chilling out on the ads again. Your voice and skill are why we're here, not toothpaste. Thanks Rob

Rob, you are a wonderful teacher, as well as craftsman. I imagine many can "do", but I know that few can "teach". It's so important to learn how to check your own work, throughout the steps, because we all now know that details matter! I put off watching this video for a few days, cause I thought, no way, too complicated, but with the right sharp tools and your direction, we should all be able to create this. Thank you all

I love all your content Rob. My own work has improved infinitely since I started watching your channel. The single biggest improvement came from learning A: I needed and B: how to get deadly sharp chisels and plane irons.
The second came from buying a really good plane. Thank you so much. Hoping to attend a workshop (as a disabled vet). Bless you, man.

With a few good tools, as supplied by Mr. Cosman, and this tutorial, I could do that. But I don't think it means I should retire my Leigh dovetail jig. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.

You make it look easy as always. I wouldn't be doing this without your video.

I love when a true craftsman of his or her trade, is able to take the time to teach to it others so well, and articulate so well, that it is easy for others to comprehend. He can tell you if you need a new tool by showing you how to use it, but also show alternative ways and and sometimes better tools that will do the same thing. He can show you exactly how to create joinery that some would think is very difficult to create Thank you Rob for sharing your years of knowledge with us internet apprentice.

Rob great video! I have to say I like the way you showed how you finish the cutting of the pins when the cut is not perfectly to the gauge line. Most of us don't get out cuts right on and need to do some cleaning up of the joint. Seeing how you do the chisel work is a big help.

This is an example of great craftsmanship! Thanks for the great video. After watching this I feel I could do these dovetails. Great as always! Take care and be safe.

I was taught how to cut dovetails by a few old hand's. While they all had their own slightly different tools for marking out they always cut away the waste before marking the pin's from the tail's.
But before they did that they taught me the real secret to getting super tight self locking dovetails that had invisible glue lines and did not need to be clamped. No trial fitting, one shot with a block and mallet, done.
Never seen any YouTube channel teach this trade secret.
