I had a very close relationship with a man I called "The Bus Driver" My mom made sure that I was on his bus to and from organ lessons in downtown Chicago. Fast forward to my 8th grade graduation. He gave me one of those giant cards that was popular at the time, and inside he wrote, "Congratulations, baby girl. I know you'll do great things. Love, your dad, Ed" 😮 What?! Is this so?! Yes, it was. That was one of the best conversations I've ever had with my mom. I loved him so much and I still miss him 20 years after his death. Ha, best graduation present, ever!
