If you tie in the illumination wire on the stereo to the 12v supply from the car the lights will come on any time your key is in the acc or run positions. Used to do this when installing my stereos in my vehicles. Keeps from having to mess with the headlights and dimming situations.

Thank you for the detailed video. So for instance i will install a steering wheel control and tap the ILL wire on the stereo head unit to the ILL wire positive of the steering wheel control the illumination lights of the steering wheel control will also turn on when you open the park lights. Right?

Question - I have an Android unit that I am installing into a 2012 ford focus. There are 4 wires unaccounted for that are connected, on one end, to the power switch, NAV, etc. They are labeled "Key 1, Key 2, ILL, and GND". Does anyone know where to connect these?
