Heavy Metal Churches of Colombia - Music World - Episode 4

On a busy side street an hour from the center of Bogotá, Colombia, the Communidad Pantokrator meets every Saturday to rock out in the name of Jesus Christ.

We spent an enthralling evening in Pantakrator's mosh pit of raw emotion and got a glimpse of how some cast-off rockers have found community and resurrection in the crashing symbols and sweet arpeggios of Christian metal.

A religion is a set of rules - to truly know God the father and creator is not a set of rules - its a personal relationship - marriage is a law binding contract between a man and a woman, but marriage is not a set of rules, it is a relationship between a man and woman, BUT of course there are boundaries within marriage that should not be broken, for ex. you shouldnt lie or cheat or abuse your spouse. Are they allowed to use flatted fifths?

Actually, on that matter, I wanted to ask a theory buff who would have read into this kinda thing:- when the whole concept of the "devils tritone" was conceived, was it still not allowed to be used when it was actually technically played as an augmented fourth and not a flat 5? E.g-maybe in a Lydian context or something (as it has a #4/b5 interval)???? Thanks

Colombia and I believe that Latin America in general have churches that open spaces for different bands of various musical genres, it can be absolutely any genre, as long as they mention and speak directly about Christianity, God and Christ in their music, which is very different of churches in other parts of the world. In Brazil, for example, there is a Christian death metal band called Antidemon and many others that play unusual genres on stages and church altars that would be considered unacceptable in some non-Latin churches such as grindcore, extreme metal, punk rock, etc.
