The fact that Heimdall just went along with this is hilarious.

"I was young"

didnt know 40 years meant that much to a 1000 year old being

I love the idea of Loki being responsible for the DB Cooper hijacking, the most infamous and only unsolved airplane highjacking incident in US history, just for his own amusement. He made an excuse about losing a bet here but you can tell he loved every moment of it.

Aside from the weather conditions, this is a pitch-perfect recreation of the DB Cooper hijacking, from the glimpses we see. One of my favorite unsolved mysteries being paid homage to in Marvel was just awesome.

Edit: A few other inconsistencies have been pointed out, so a rewording might be necessary. It's not an utterly perfect recreation, but I'm impressed that they overall got more details right than they got wrong.

It's cool that they also incorporate the actual escape from Alcatraz where two inmates tie a bunch of inflated raincoats together or something - they never found them either.

I love when Marvel does stuff like this. And Loki perfectly fits the description and cunningness of D. B. Cooper!
Edit: The fact that the U.S Government went on a huge manhunt, gathered multiple suspects, and created the most logical solutions to the mystery of the money showing up at Tina Bar, yet the real reason was just the bifrost, was hilarious.

"I was Young and I lost a bet to Thor" D.B Cooper was in 1971. Thor and Loki are both Roughly 1, 500 years old when Avengers came out, so hes around 1, 460 when he did this jump. Damn, so young lol.

Also on a side note for their ages.

Thor was 1500 Years old by the time of the events of the first Thor movie, In the span of 13 Years he had alot happen to him:

He was Banished by his father and left powerless on a Planet he was mostly unfamiliar with.
His own brother wanted him and his father dead so that he could claim the throne.
He watched his brother fall off the Rainbow Bridge supposidly to his death,
He learned his "dead' brother was still alive in Avengers 1 and that he was trying to take over the world he became attached too.
He watches his own kingdom get attacked by the Dark Elves and his Girlfriend nearly dies due to being attached with the Reality Stone.
His mother is killed
He watches Loki die after the fight with the Dark Elves
Her returns home to Asgard after fighting Surtur to realize his brother is in fact alive and his Father is missing.
He watches his Father die in front of him and Loki.
His Sister destroys Mjolnir.
He watches Loki get flung out of the Bifrost presumably dead again.
He gets trapped on Sakaar without his power and his one Friend from the Avengers isnt willing to help him.
He loses his Eye in a battle with his sister
His home is destroyed by Surtur
His ship is attacked, his brother is killed, and half of all remaining Asgardians are killed.
He doesnt go for the head allowing Thanos to snap away half of all life.
And he loses both Black Widow and Iron Man which were 2 people he grew to love.

After 1, 500 years of life this all happened in the span of 13 years. That must have felt like a shitty summer to Thor

Bro imagine in the MCU they flight attendant sees Loki at the end of time, she would be like “tf dbcooper here”

Ngl, even if he lost a bet with Thor, Loki seemed to enjoy this way too much 😂

Wow he actually looks so much like the composite sketches of the real DB Cooper

“And that had the Timekeeper’s stamp of approval, did it?”

I love the idea that they can pull up video footage of any variant

"There was this one time you turned into a snake" "okay that was great" "and there was this one time you turned into a horse?" "DO NOT PUT THAT IN" "Oh my god" "I was in college!"

Comics confirmed than Loki is actually the mythical Florida man

The best part of this scene was how Loki lost some of the money as Heimdall caught him with the Bifrost. Since, obviously know to everyone who knows about D.B. Cooper, a boy in Vancouver found some of the money near the Columbia River.

I like the idea of such a famous unsolved case in human history being the result of a brotherly dare.

I love how accurate this scene is. DB did actually order a bourbon and soda, and even slipped the flight hostess a note, and when she didn’t read it, he then said those exact words “miss, you might want to read that note. I have a bomb”. The only thing is db jumped during the night, not day
