It’s not that its power output is low, it’s the fact that the 8 speed has too much space between gears

That's definitely enough power. I would be satisfied with the 4cyl then. Plenty of power, super efficient.

This engine sounds a lot better than the previous generation when pushed hard. I used to own a 2013 2.5 and that car had a high pitch annoying whine. Plus the vehicle (2013) had way too many hard plastics.

Your brand new Camry just before delivery : ) And NO the engines are NOT broken in before delivery. ( O.K. Maybe the NISSAN GT-R and some other $$$ supercars) And No, modern tolerances and clearances do not mean you don't have to break in the engine properly. Really, I don't give a hoot - but I was surprised about reading no "beat on as a young-un" comments :)

I timed 0-60 from other youtube and it was 7.76 seconds, and I think it is about right.

The reason 0-60 times are similar to the pre-2017 Camry 2.5 is that it's new 8-speeds detuned for economy then power. The older Camry (I4/6AT) had a balance.

I don’t see a difference between this 2.5L and my 2.5L 2010 Camry. Both mine and this one get to 60 in 8 seconds. I have a video on my 0-60 time.

Hey guys, have the same situation with me, i bouth couple mounth ago camry 2018 xse with 2, 5 i4, and have a lot of problems with it, 1st probelm is a fucking tourqe, its very slow, i did race with regular honda civic with cvt and i couldnt pass him, 2nd engine very noice, its make a lot of noice but its not going that fast, i am like wtf ? and also the fucking transmission, its 8 speed, but works so stupid, even on sport mode its very slow .. well i just wanna say i am not happy anymore with this stupid car, its a sport only from outside thats it

About 8.x seconds. Start moving between 1-2 second and hit 60 @10 seconds. Even the v6 is 6.5. Both are slow

A crv an SUV producing less power can beat this thing. It's about 9 secs. Horribly slow. Overhyped camry
