Tino, those rows of bunkers are also build behind the dikes on the island of Dordrecht. They are only build to shelter troops behind the dikes during an expected artillery bombardment before an enemy River crossing. The fighting positions were directly behind or on the dikes. Also the dikes were much smaller and lower in that time period.

Tino, those small square bunkers are to house troops only, no firing position just small close defence port inside. The big slab of concrete is the bedding for a cast iron MG dome which is gone. Greets from Holland

When war is about to break out, the defender always comes to the realization that having a lot of bunkers would be very helpful. Might as well collect as many as you can to have in reserve.

The blockhouse, when will we see the lower levels

that lower structure was earlier type build to put a sherman tank turret in to fire static wit a a 10 to 02 o clock sector of fire

Tino for Gods sake man, you've worked in film, you must have a buddy (or two) working in sound that can give you something to combat the dreadful sound quality of your otherwise brilliant videos, i am partially deaf, so the background noise of the wind is truly annoying, get a grip man, put a sock over it, a fluffy thing to absorb the wind, that's what they are for, or a foam jobby xx love pete

The soldiers in these bunkers must not have had a very good feeling about getting out of those alive if they were attacked.
