Rheumatoid Arthritis can also lead to scleritis, an inflammation of the sclera (the white part of the eye), causing redness, pain, and light sensitivity.

In people with RA, the immune system, which is already attacking the joints, may also mistakenly target the tissues in the eyes. Resulting in symptoms like:
➡️ severe eye pain
➡️ redness
➡️ tenderness
➡️ and light sensitivity

Scleritis can be a serious condition and if left untreated, may lead to complications, including vision loss.

Regular eye check-ups are essential for individuals with RA to monitor and manage these potential complications.

If you experience any eye pain, redness, or vision changes, it's important to consult your healthcare provider or an eye specialist.
