Join us for a visit to this amazing large aviary in Durban. The park is situated in 3.5 hectares of lush tropical landscaping and houses an ever-increasing collection of more than 800 birds from 200 species. Some species are the only representatives of their kind in Africa whilst others are commonly kept as pets. The park was created with the aim of educating people about birds and creating an awareness of their beauty and diversity. The past few years have seen this educational focus shift towards a broader view of conservation and biodiversity awareness in general.

Great site, glad I found it, what an amazing focus on the care of animals/birds. Just one thing you got wrong, the cockatoo you showed as a Major Mitchell was not..probably a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. Still a fab show and motivates me as an Australian to visit SA again..Great country
