Well.. Ben.. you have been a part of my life (so to speak) for about 11 years now... It has been an honor to view your journey... Through the turns of your path there have been times that I worried about you but.. we all have to make decisions in life don't we... Some of my own decisions caused me great trouble and regret... We move on.. learn hopefully and survive... Idealy.. more that survive.. to find joy.. hope and peace... Sometimes I miss the early days of your adventures but.. the blogs will always be there for reminiscing... Ben.. your video today may have been your best... Throughout it I had the most clarity of mind and peace I have had in a long while... Keep moving forward.. as I hope to do... I also would like to say that it is true that Britain and America have great errors in their histories... Don't let that obscure the great good that has come from them as well... Love this, Ben. I used to actively run away from structure and avoid it like the plague - telling myself I valued freedom above all else. I now with age and dare I say it maturity, realise that structure sets us free. I realised that... found structure in my life... then kids started arriving on the scene. Bye bye structure - hello chaos and carnage! For now anyway. At least I recognise it now 🤣 There's a fantastic Rick Rubin interview from 2015 on the Tim Ferriss podcast. Worth a listen!

I’m neurodivergent and a structured day, week, year helps me to not be overwhelmed and feel free within my self-set “rules”. When I am being spontaneous once in a while it seems like such an achievement and “normal” thing to do! I was self-employed, but I learnt that I thrive in an externally structured work environment. Such a relief! You’re doing amazing, Ben. x

The best thing you can do as a creative person is to get a normal, stable job that provides a routine and to create around it. Without that stability you can't have that foundation to create from. I love your ethos on life, a tapestry of life, how beautiful :)

Structure as a means of support is such a grown-up concept. I love a good deal of autonomy in my work but I need structure to help me keep it all on the rails. It took me until my late 30s to understand that was a balance that I needed.
