How to make a wooden flute

Making a simple 6-hole flute from the elder wood (Sambucus nigra). Flutes made from hand drilled elder wood are part of cultural heritage of slavic nations - being it the famous big fujara, koncovka or these 6-hole flutes.

This one is tuned and played the same way as irish tin whistle/flute in the key of E.

The final piece is played on the very flute I make in the video, and it is my take on the traditional St. Patrick´s Andro.

Superb video thank you for sharing . I always dry elder with the bark on because I find it a right pig for warping and splitting without it.

Thank you, now I know I did wrong. Actually several things I did wrong. I made one for Woodshop once, but it's been several decades since I tried making one.
