Have a MD 9600 and I love it! Great radio! Only drawback is it only holds 10, 000 contacts. Doesn’t effect me driving down the road. Works great on analog too!

Best radio ive ever owned and is my only used daily radio... Tyt md9600 is Better than the xpr5550e And Xtl5000! I am a radio junkie so I got every icom and Motorola radio ranging from Maxtrac to Apx.
I got version 1 and I'm a trucker 48 states. I've had my unit since 2017 and I've never heard the popping sound but 2 times. All you got to do is stay away from proper lines and fuel stations. Just move 10 feet and the sound goes away. Also ... I've talked on mine being all long winded till radio is smoking hot for 7 years every day all day and the darn thing still works great. Doesn't look cheap doesn't feel cheap and functions like a Motorola. Deff not a chinese knock off radio.
Dual band dmr with FM and Password protected with all the bells and whistles... Shoot

The Wattmeter you're using (MFj-849), does it work accurately when measuring the output of the Digital Signal? I was told Analogue Wattmeter Can't measure Digital Radio output in digital mode...!!
What is the output power for each level in Digital mode (From LOW, MED, MED-High, HIGH)?

That PTT delay might be by design because lots of operators do not leave 4 or 5 seconds between overs thus not allowing other operators to disconnect or to announce themselves.

So I read the programming and wrote it back to the program (downloaded the programming), made some changes, and loaded it onto the radio. What do I need to do to print off the channels I have in it now, e.g. some sort of spreadsheet or something?

I have a version 3 radio... The display is really bad unless you are directly in front of the radio. Up high, down low, off to the left or off to the right you cannot read the screen. Take a good look at the screen and you will see its not crisp, much like a 20 year old dot matrix printer. Take a good look, the MFJ orange screen is really crisp and clear and then look at the TYT and see just how bad it is. The audio is fine but when I press the mic transmit button the radio waits almost two seconds before you hear the DMR chirp and your voice starts transmitting. This is not the same problem you are seeing in the video where you cannot key up the button until the the Outline D turns solid. That is called "Group Call Hang time" and what the repeater is doing is keeping the repeater open for a designated period of time so only transmissions in the same talk group will be able to reply. This is useful if you are running several talk groups on a channel and you want to continue a conversation and not have the conversation hijacked by another conversation in a different talk group. In this video Jason was not able to reply because most likely the firmware is messed up by bad firmware programming from the factory. At the date i am writing this they must have fixed it because my radio does not have that problem. Again, I can hit the transmit button and hold it but my radio wont "chirp" and transmit for almost two seconds and the delay is maddening so if you know of a fix please tell me. Lastly, when ever i turn on the radio I get a loud pop out of the EXTERNAL speaker and yes I have the newest firmware. I got the radio on Black Friday for around $175.00 so I will keep it but will not purchase another one and cannot recommend this radio to my ECOM team members. It's a COVID-19 world at this point and I hope everyone is staying safe. Be well Jason and the group.

On the TYT 9600 when the code plug is read from the radio and want to make changes to the code plug and then rewrite there is error "The Frequency Range is wrong. I had load the the original code plug and made changes from it and then uploaded it to the 9600 ..

Hi, congratulations on your videos. I have seen on the screen the TG is displayed, the name, the call sign, city and state. This happens because you have configured them that way or it comes from the factory?

I have a V.3 bought in Europe and I would like to be able to receive the global contact base.
