It is developed for inside use but it should also work outside a house if you have targets on the corners. But the wall thickness can not be added in the function itself.

would like to have a feature where you position the device in the center of the room and you basically rotate and it measures the perimeter, that alone would be more that enough for almost all the situation where i need measurements for as-builts, even with elements in the way, then i can clean it up in cad, etc.

I studied the app from youtube and the pdf you attached here. I have decided to buy the Disto X3, but I don't think I will use the Disto app 😊 it is nice and fast... and maybe accurate ... but it doesn't include sloped ceilings or ceiling beams... and those are very common situations.

do you have a how to video on how to create whole house plans manaually? I am a heating designer looking for a laser measurer that can create whole house and multiple room floor plans if you have such a device and platform to do this. any help appreciated

How can I use this for kitchen layouts? I need to add measurements to my plan like upper cabinets, base cabinets, cabinet height, distance between bottom of upper cabinets and tops of lower cabinets, add in oven, sink, d/w.... etc.... please tell me this will be possible soon... I bought this thing for simplifying my kitchen estimates, but, I think it's lacking some capability... I could always just "add a door" to my plans for each cabinet, but, that would only work for either the top or bottom.... with the many functions of my disto x, it seems like adding the few features mentioned above shouldn't be too difficult 🤙🤙...
However, I guess for now I could use the smart Room app to capture the measurements of the kitchen, and perhaps just manually add a line outside of the wall that represents the upper cabinets, and then a line outside of that line that represents the base cabinets, and I can individually markup each line with the individual cabinet sizes? Can you manually add lines to the smart room.app?.... Like once you finish measuring a room with the smart app, can you go back to that plan and manually Add a new line?

I’m a decorator and was wondering can this be used on a corridor with multiple rooms off the corridor and be able to do a combined floor plan of corridor and all rooms or is it just room by room.

Does it only work on rooms with 90 degree corners? Will it detect a corner angle of 45 degrees?

You can measure only 20 walls and Room Height for each plan. If you need to measure a lot of corners, what can you do with 20 measurements? It is not enough, it is useless.

It automatically compensated for the length of a wall if it is not held exactly level. But is there a way to turn this off so I can measure a sloped wall length?

I would like to simply export all measurements to an excel spreadsheet via bluetooth. I don't need fancy gizmos and angle detection and all that other stuff. Just simply record the measurement so we can review and potentially catch any manual input errors or verbal errors. This is so simple and I can't find how to do it? does anyone know? thanks
