Area Of Regular Polygons

The apothem of a regular hexagon with an 8 inch side is 6.9282 inches. I can't see why the author says it is 7 inches.
Similarly, if the apothem is really 7 inches, (as shown) then the perimeter would be 48.497 inches, not 48 inches, and the sides would all be 8.08 inches long, not 8 inches.

This video is invaluable... it teaches us that we should challenge all assumptions, and that we can get better answers when we work things out for ourselves.

i'm literally studying materials science at university and i didnt remember this.

I never knew the Apothem was the distance from the middle of the shape to the midpoint of one of the sides
