Very disappointing if not terribly surprising. Empire will do as Empire wills. The notion that Trump (even if he was of a mind to) would change the M.O. of the US to a fully constructive approach was not believable. I applaud his efforts, despite the rhetoric, in Ukraine and Gaza and hopefully Iran can be brought into the fold as well. The adversarial stance against China is perturbing but we'll have to see how things play out there. I'm cautiously hopeful. Yet how the US treats with it's closest neighbors in the South and the small nations of Cuba and Haiti show a very dark side to US foreign policy, utterly at odds with it's purported ideals. Rome wasn't un-built in a day I suppose..
