Vodice (or Grad Vodice in Croatian) is a town at the Dalmatian Coast in the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. Vodice has a population of 9,000. The town was founded in Roman Times and known as the city of Arausa. Vodice was hundreds of years part of the Venetian Empire who established a trading post here at the coast (1412-1797). Some highlights of the town are the old centre, the city port and marina, the defensive walls and the church of St. Cross (1412), the Okit Hill with the chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (1660).
