#93: RS232 and SPI bus waveforms, bus decodes and RF activity on the Moteino using Tek MDO4000

Just having a little more fun on the bench with the Moteino (see previous video on this Arduino close with RFM12B wireless transceiver), and the Tektronix MDO4000 Mixed Domain Oscilloscope. Here, we view the analog waveforms for two different low-speed serial busses (RS-232 and SPI), decode those busses, and look at the RF spectrum characteristics, and FSK modulation characteristics vs. time - all using a single capture on the scope.

I agree tek should give you the latest and greatest. I've not seen the use for so many channels and functions in use, so clearly explained, with practical uses before. Come on tek, Agilent, and all, send this guy some crazy scopes so we can see them actually put to use and see what they are good for!

Great demo of that 30k $ scope:) Tek realy should give you one for keeps, they gave 3 of them at E14 roadtest for a lot less practical and interesting reviews...

Great video, I have one question is there a software that can decode capture from the scope, as I don’t have serial decode function in my scope?

Okay, let me add some corrections here...On the spectrum analyzer what you are calling a signal is just noise and the two peaks shifted a million hertz or so is the signal (wiki Frequency Shift Key). The yellow bar is still integrating over several 1's and 0's so you're seeing the sum of those on the scope.
