Why Are People Not Coming Here? | Pergamon | Türkiye 🇹🇷 Turkey
Показать описание
This is a clip from my episode at the Ancient Roman Mountaintop City of Pergamon. I just do not understand why more people prefer to go on beach vacations over going to ancient sites like this. It makes no sense to me. Watch the full video on my channel. Sorry the shorts from this video aren't as good. The wide view of the gopro really worked for the main video but not so much for trimming the shorts. Again, watch the full video for much much better views.
In this video we explore the Ancient Mountaintop City of Pergamon in North Western Turkey. This is one of the few ancient cities we saw on this trip that tourists do actually go to. Though not to the level of Ephesus. Pergamon (now Bergama) was known in ancient times for it's Temple of Zeus as well as having the steepest Ancient Theater in the world. And then the cherry on top was the 3rd largest library of antiquity. Though the library now is in ruin it is still an incredible site. Also the birthplace of our modern paper, or parchment. This, like many of the other stops on this trip I would consider a must see ancient site. It is very easy to get to and access right in the path between Istanbul to the north and Ephesus to the south. In the next video I will be showing you the ancient "hospital" at the bottom of the mountain this city is on.
This trip was a few months before the horrible earthquake that just hit Turkey. My heart breaks for all the people there as we stayed in several of the worst hit cities and it is so upsetting to see the destruction.
