I recently listened to an interview of my two favorite YouTubers talking to each other for like 2 hours and so much great insight was shared. They had very similar experiences starting out, both about 8 years ago. One big thing I learned is - the ability to stay relatable is so important. A lot of YouTubers I see buy expensive stuff and feel like they need to know everything about what they're doing (even if they're not 100% sure) because they've been in it for so long. Most people watch creators for the journey and the feeling of "I could do that someday". Once you surpass a point where people have a hard time seeing how they would get there or be in your position, it becomes hard to build real fans for the long haul. Staying transparent and being completely honest about everything can really help this, but I feel a lot of creators miss this opportunity because it goes against the narrative of being a famous YouTuber! Great video Gary!!

As an older creator who is just starting out, your advice of using tik tok as another platform, was life changing for me. When you stated the fastest growing audience right now on tik tok was 35-55, I ran, not walked to get involved more on it. In a week and a half, I went from 55 followers to 1500 and climbing. Because of tik tok, I grew my slow growing youtube channel. I found more people who were interested in gardening. So, THANK YOU!

One advice that Gary said that to me is gold : Do not fall in love with the platform that got you there >>>>

I am a youtube for over 1.4 millions subs and I was Falling in love with youtube platform, and that blinded me from exploring better chances, but after their unreasonable strikes ( 2 community strikes in less than 72 hours on videos that are 2 years old), I started to acknowledge my mistake... now I have my own show in contract with snapchat that make away more money and reached over 3 billions views in 11 months while youtube only 100 millions + my fame is 90% due to the show getting on trends very much every week thank you Gary

As someone who recently started their content creation journey, this is valuable. It’s important to stay true to myself and not try to be like the people I follow. 🔥

I’m a new content creator for my business. Self awareness and gather content from my audience through Q&A are two phenomenal points for me.

Gary's right. It's important to understand this. Don't listen to people who say that someplace is only for A, B, and C. No one knows when that place will evolve and everybody will get in there.

He predicts the future by observing the past. Such an insightful video. Thanks 🙏

Fully agree here, as a content creator with a message, you’ll find a gap to spread that message and evolve with the platform and influence new problem solving ideas. Whatever your thing is. Happy creating peeps

I think the other reason people don’t jump to the next platform is, time. Every platform takes time and you only have 24 hours. Every time you start something new you have to stop something old. Judging the balance of the worth of a new thing versus the thing you were already doing is the battle.

I understand where Gary’s coming from when he says people are worried about failing and that’s why they don’t post on 6 platforms. The other side of the coin is that some people just can’t do it. People have ADHD and are kinds of things that hold them back. Remember double down on your strength? They’re some amazing artists…but they can’t produce, market, and run the label. They need to outsource or a team. Which also takes money and resources.

Gary thankyou so much for this video as someone. Who works full-time I started realizing it in the last 2 weeks that I've been making excuses and I haven't been posting content as consistently as I need to or my website my blog site and I've actually gone to the point that I want to go back to blogging weekly and instead of talking about it I need to actually do it. Actually have a new blog post it's going to be posted up at 5:00 in the morning and I'm actually looking to work on a blog idea for this weekend to have a new blog up next weekend. Also think the true secret is is making time to get things done no matter what

Authenticity seems to be a real pattern in all our interviews also. Do what you know. Also, not chasing perfection is a great point.

Just finished reading Gary`s book Crushing it. Amazing book for content creators. Very insightful video as always. the key takeaway is that it is important to be contextual to the platform you choose and be true to yourself and authentic when creating content.

I can't create content consistently...last year lost mom to Covid along with my granny and even before it was a year I lost my beloved dog who was like my child... every time I start creating content life punches me in face

I love the idea of leaning on Q&A to come up with content ideas. Very few can consistently come up with new ideas on their own
