I told my Dr.a year ago that i had pain in the area of the pancreas.He kinda ignored it, but suggested an ultrasound, an mri, and a pet scan.They didnt show it!

I had symptoms and my doctor told me I had pancreatitis. He advised against a scan. Almost 3 months later I get the scan and yep PC4

Unfortunately in this country our health care system is more reactive than pro-active. early screening is important for so many diseases, but the cost is prohibitive for many. And then once symptoms present, the disease is so advanced outcomes are poor. It is a sad commentary on health care in this country that our life expectancy is decreasing and fetal mortality rates are increasing.

This is beyond rare. She’s extremely lucky. Most pancreatic cancer patients will die from the disease in at most 2 years.
