Kind of funny listening to this in 2020 and realizing you can't even buy a good *new* car for $18, 000, or even $25, 000 for a nicer cheap new car.

A man plans revenge on his brother by leaving $25, 000 in cash in his brother's cab! Sometimes it’s hard to believe what a difference a few days can make in a man’s life or even less than that, an hour or even a minute because fate can move in a split second. Take the case of Robert Bradley for example. If you happened to wander in to the Silver Dollar Buffet down on Third Street any afternoon prior to this afternoon in September 1944, any afternoon during the racing season you would have seen him there a thin pale nervous young man with a hand full of form charts and a cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth. Yes you would’ve seen Robert Bradley and probably have forgotten him that is unless he owed you money as he did most of the bookmakers in San Francisco. But at 11:44 on the night of September 6th 1944 fate turned a wheel, the steering wheel of an automobile speeding along the road, which skirts the cliffs overlooking the sea.
