Some years ago I had a lady-friend and we joined a local Scottish Country Dance group, mostly seniors, but a sprinkling of younger folks and a few kids who tagged along with their parents. It was great fun and quite a workout physically. We would often get muddled up and tangled, forgetting the pattern, missing steps, but laugh it off and carry on with a smile. We actually got good enough to put on a demonstration at the local Robbie Burns Day supper and dance. I find the music quite cheerful, the people friendly, the exercise refreshing.

Dr. Kwasniewski, I don’t care what anyone says. You ARE one of my very favorite Catholics! Keep dancing! 💃🏻

your original video didn't allow comments, but I wanted to thank you for the moral theology you incidentally went through there, as a very scrupulous person

I agree that the "minority opposition" expressing "moral pessimism and rigorism" unwittingly help Modernist critics attempting to "discredit Traditionalism." Sadly, the topic of dancing only scratches the surface of the Calvinistic, Jansenistic moral sensibilities in some Traditional communities. I try to be charitable and not judge our Society brethren, as their forced isolation from the Church militant may be bearing some sour fruit. In their eyes, any TLM community or individual associated even marginally with the diocesan system must be suspected as Modernist. Prayers for them. And us.
