Singapore to streamline COVID-19 and border rules, announces new VTL with Hong Kong

Singapore’s COVID-19 rules will be streamlined so that they are easier to understand, announced co-chair of the multi-ministry task force Gan Kim Yong on Wednesday (Feb 16) during a news conference.

1 in 10 recovered Covid-19 patients in suffers persistent symptoms six months after infection: you think infected by it we are stronger? Few of my friends and relatives after recovered still feeling weak after 2 months. Those recovered might start to feel tht the body are no longer strong as before esp heart. Please take care folks and dont mess around. Its too early to know what happen next.

Vaccination status for citizens will expire after 270 from 2nd dose without booster. How about tourists? It seems that even if they only had 2 doses more than 270 days ago, they can still come to Singapore and be counted as "vaccinated" for 30 days from arrival. Why the double standard against citizens? This is a question and not a statement of fact, happy to be corrected if I am wrong.

Please clearly define who qualifies as a VACCINATED TRAVELLER? In Singapore, Vaccinated persons are those who have completed their second dose (for mRNA) after 14days and, where due, those who have taken their boosters within 9 months from the date of the second dose (different consideration for non mRNA vaccines). If other countries do not follow Singapore standards (meaning the travellers do not follow Singapore way of classifying vaccinated status), are they still allowed to enter Singapore as Vaccinated traveller? In short, those who take 2 doses of non mRNA, persons who do not take boosters after 9mths of their second doses etc. Because these visitors should be classified as NON-VACCINATED. How will or can the authorities validate the vaccination status of visitors?

The one-way VTL with HK is ludicrous. Stick to the Air Travel Pass (ATP), especially when Macao, Mainland China, and Taiwan are given ATPs. Stop singling out HK and treating it differently, when it is part of China. Unless you give China a VTL, that is.
