Saw this story when it aired. Absolutely fascinating. Yes, this could lead to things such as designer babies but that doesn't at all mean we should stop research such as this. Always remember that we all fail when we take away our basic right to make mistakes, learn from them, and emerge as wiser people. God himself never took away our right to go against his laws. He just instituted consequences for doing so. So any society that is truly "under God" as they claim would understand the value in doing with man's laws what God has done with his.

This will pushed on us all. Whether we like it or not. Just look at no GMO labeling in the U.S. alone.

Am I the only one to see similarities between the way George Church talks and the manner in which Elon Musk expresses himself? They stress similarly, use similar words and even their movements are similar.

They didn't talk about it. But with this technology, one could have a origin replacement with the one they have. No more waiting for a donor.

Mr george church I dont see the urgent nature of super human quality I see the crispr to make earth the paradise that it is or once was no need to look or visit other planets or galaxy's let's treat mother earth first and get piece between the different cultures first then once that's accomplished we move forward all together

Why not mix in some AI, as we toy around with genetics? Exactly what is the point, the goal?

Just because they can.. doesn't mean they should. This is completely unethical
