This movie is supposed to be experienced on low quality DVD with a six pack of beer on Christmas eve. That's the family tradition for over 15 years.

One of my favorite action film ever, got the disc and was very pleased with it, very filmic and organic quality, the only letdown was not an audio remaster but sounds ok

I just picked this up last week. I was less impressed by the sub activity in this one compared to the DVD believe it or not (DTS version). I remember in that one there's quite a bit of sub activity when he's inside the HVAC and the fans are moving. Thinking back on it I don't even remember much/any sub activity from that scene in this mix. I'll have to check it out again to be sure. I just remember being really impressed with the DTS DVD back in the day.

An excellent review and I appreciated how you said that ahead of a main character converge into the background I find that happens in a lot of these 4K videos and that black contrast levels are terrible on my Siri 6 roku UHD 4KTV

Okay, possibly different studios, but 'Spartacus', new Dolby Atmos mix, 'Bridge on the River Kwai', new Dobly Atmos mix. 'Die Hard' and 'Predator' (same studio), same mix as the previous releases, despite the fact that these latter two are more recent, action orientated, deserve and would presumably benefit more greatly than some older catalogue films. If 'Die Hard' had received a new, competent object mix which impoved upon the channel-based mix, I'd have got it hands down.

Awesome movie, average release unfortunately.
I'll wait for a price drop before picking this one up, no Dolby Atmos nor DTS:X made it a minor deal breaker for me.
