Julian Rodgers is back with another great video, this time explaining the deeper workings of Sound Radix Pi, a plug-in designed to help deal with the complex phase relationships that happen in a mix. Within 5 minutes you'll not only understand why we made it, but you will be downloading a demo to try on your mix.

How to avoid wobble artifacts with it ??

Perhaps some of the concerns raised in the comments by users have been addressed since. My question is how CPU intensive the plugin is. I have not yet used any sort of clip alignment tool or phase correction tool. But when mixing my own multi-track projects I noticed something subtle that was unrelated to frequency masking and wondered what it could be. From Bar #, . I try to align all project clips as accurately as possible by copying the stick count in, and then in sample view by lining up the peaks and valleys. This method works well until there is some drift in timing as will naturally occur between tracks over the project time and even within a single track itself. Over a plus 30- track project, the issue is compounded leading to an undefinable problem that is impossible to correct. That made me wonder if it was a phase related issue. It clearly is, so phase alignment as well as micro timing issues are evident. Even when working with a click track and MIDI master/slave applications, the problem might still occur due to micro latency. It seems that any sort of clear mix will be very difficult to achieve without something like Pi and/or Clip Align. Most of the videos I've seen on clip alignment relate to using drum mics and m/s delay, but the same sort of thing clearly does happen between all instrument and vocal clips in any mix, where peaks and valleys are out of sync. Makes me wonder how in the former multi-track tape days this same problem was solved, or if it was accepted as being par for the course. If anyone remembers rocking the spools over the heads and then splicing with a razor blade....

I bought pi years ago when it first came out and had trouble figuring it out...this definitely helps to see what it's doing for sure! Is there any other videos available that show how to best use the plugin in certain instances? such as multi-mic'd drums, or even just how to set it up the best for say, the stereo piano you played, or a stereo acoustic guitar? Thanks for the great video!

The problem with that plugIn is that it introduces artifacts. You can hear them clearly working in a Drum group. I bought Pi a couple of years ago and after using it for a while ( i tried every combination to fix the problem ) i never used it again. Pity about the money!

People wash their belts? That is the first I've heard of that...

32 bit plugins are no longer supported in Cubase.

Okay so when you add Pi to loads of pianos you get all the bass.
