Samsung Galaxy S8 Black Screen of Death FIX

How to get your LCD screen to turn back on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Active. Phone was stuck in sleep mode "Black Screen of Death" by holding The Down Volume button and Power Button at the same time it will perform a hard reboot.

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! My phone died while I was walking and talking on a cold MN afternoon. I thought it was from the cold temp but nothing I did when I returned to relative warmth worked. My S/O is strictly an iPhone guy so no help other than to advise it probably needed a reboot and that I look online for advice. I'll claim pandemic brain for not thinking of that myself. It took about 3 seconds to reboot. I really appreciate your extremely valuable and simple advice/solution!!

What if it's a hardware problem? Mine flickered in green colors and then it stopped working. Tried the hard reboot but it didn't work

tysm, YES! MY PHONE IS FIXED. My screen recently took a plumet face first into concrete and cracked despite an otterbox, but besides a few deadzones on the screen it looked and worked fine. I thought that was part of the problem but I suppose this is just a normal thing.

Thank you so so much my phone went black 3 days ago and I tried every thing. It did take me a couple of tries holding the volume down and power but it did actually finally work so thank you so much!
