Another hour beating on the Dyno Mule. Ran really nice, 10 HP bump to 220HP and torque remained the same at 460 ftlbs:). Will fix the tach, water meth injector leak, and exhaust for the next run.:) Next run is with more water meth and wvo to see if there's an improvement in emissions.:)

I have a dyno similar to yours and upgraded the electronics to data log and get accurate hp and torque readings. The stuff i used was from performance trends in Detroit Mi. Excellent company to deal with and not super expensive

450 lb/ft out of a 4-53 (3.6 litres) is very up to 15 litres (DD15) sized engine would be 1875 lb/ft. Looks like the 4-53 is almost getting 25 psi of boost, whereas a DD15 runs at about 40 psi. Black smoke under load hints at some un-burned fuel. More boost is the answer, and that can be assisted with ceramic coated turbine housing and manifold, and a turbo leakage, reduces energy reaching the exhaust turbine (less physical exhaust gas pressure) and in a driven application, slows turbo spool. At EGT under load, the radiant heat coming off the exhaust manifolds etc is very significant, that is wasted energy.

I’d say that intercooler is working great with that type of temperature drop! Have you measured pressure drop across? Any plan to set up a compound turbo setup like you had on pickup? I’m right there with you, most power possible…with little to no smoke, interested to see what WVO does for emissions!

Great dyno run there. Nice to hear the quick dyno change load / no load. Rolling a bit of coal. But, did the GMC 5 tons with the 453T roll coal big.

Not so sure the water-meth was working. Looked like most of the water was getting blown back out and leaking around the fitting.

Love this stuff! Were you monitoring boost pressure before or after the blower? Does your methanol injection compensate for boost pressure/ is it a high psi system where boost doesn't restrict volume? And are you doing the dyno runs on diesel or vegetable oil? Looking forward to seeing more of this.

What about changing the injector height to see how more or less timing affects the numbers and smoke output?

Looks to be a pretty flat tq curve ....severalntimes you were showing 400ish at full rated governer rpm

On my Detroit diesel 14 liter Long block inline 6 series 60 big cam all ceramic roller etc i running i ran four different turbos 72 mm with 1.58 ar 78 mm 1.32 ar cracked the ar put 1.45 ar cracked that ar put 1.58 ar then shaft broke with 7 bar metric then journey bearings no bueno relays on oil too much then bought 91mm 1.58 n broke that shaft n billet aluminum wheel my favorite was 78 all around started to whistle when i put shaft speed sensor then a fuel tech 10 bar metric hood for 150 psi i went to 50 psi lieghter loads n 100 to 130 psi but turbos couldnt handle my powers napierville would or 143 mm or set of twins or 1471 twins two
