Have an LG from 2009! Picture enlarged and I could not read all the subtitles. Just put it on 16.9 (Aspect Ratio Settings) as you said and now I can read everything when necessary. THANKS!

Exactly what I needed, I use a lg oled from a 4080 through a display port to hdmi adapter and the screen in windows did not fit, but now it does!! Great information! :D

For those who came here looking for answers for actual picture size issues, change the "Just Scan" setting in "Aspect Ratio Settings" to "On", this will resize your actual picture. Hope this helps any who are still confused!

For those who's aspect ratio is unavailable, just unplug your tv for like 10sec and it will work.

This is about the aspect ration, not the size of the picture. The question is how to make the picture fill the screen, assuming the picture and the screen have the same aspect ratio. Other makes have a zoom function. Do LG's. If so what and where is it?

ADDENDUM: If setting to 16:9 doesn't work for you, or if it was already set to 16:9 like it was in my case, try the Just Scan setting. Switching that from Auto to On is what fixed it on my TV

That setting works when on tv mode but when watching Netflix the aspect ratio in menu is grayed out and the top and bottom of some movies has black 3 inch border
