Palamidi is a fortress to the east of the Acronauplia in the town of Nafplio in the Peloponnese region of southern Greece.Nestled on the crest of a 216 metre high hill, the forttress was built by the Venetians during their second occupation of the area.Palamidi Castle is one of the most well known spots for visitors,apart from castle itself,is the so-called prison of Kolokotronis.He was the most famous ot the Greek. It is often said that there are 999 steps,but it's actually "only" 857 steps.
