This video shows our journey from Boise, Idaho to the Stanley, Idaho area. We took Highway 55 north from Middleton, then past Horseshoe Bend to Banks. From there we headed for Crouch and Garden Valley. After boondocking next to the middle fork of the Payette River, we headed for Stanley. We found a nice campsite called Banner Creek on the way there. In Stanley we boondocked just outside of Stanley Lake. This was a very nice area despite the mosquitos! Excellent trip, the logs at Redfish Lake is where I took pictures of my Filipina wife the first trip we made up to Stanley about 25 years ago. Safe trip up the Challis and beyond to enjoy!!!

That's still a beautiful area, I haven't been since around '12 on a motorcycle trip.

BTW - For some strange reason, the "Phoenix Propane Tank Fire / Explosion" stories on Last week's news popped into my head.

One advantage of a FS campground this time of year is that they are still mostly allowing camp fires where fires are prohibited in most boondocking sites. (???)
