David Cassidy is revealing the warning signs that led to his dementia diagnosis in a new and upcoming interview with Dr. Phil. "When friends of yours or family members begin to say to you, 'Remember, I just told you this two days ago?' And there is no memory of it. That's when I began to be very concerned," he said in an interview airing Wednesday. Dr. Phil asked: "Was that was caused you to say I need to go get myself checked?" "Oh my God, yes," he said. #InsideEdition

David was very brave, and honest coming forward with his health issues. He admitted to dementia and ahlchololism. But he was also understandably hurt, that people pass negative judgements on him, without knowing his side of story. How someone could say to a performer on stage (even if they were playing poorly-just go get your money back) " go back to rehab" how insensitive, .Dr phil was very sensitive with david, and on follow show after death. Thank you dr phil. And thank you david for your talent, your courage in speaking out on these issue, you left this earth reminding us of this. And thank you for taking care of your mother, the last 7 years of her life. How come media doesnt know that about you? Luv your beautiful soul!

having nursed dementia years, he's showing classic symptoms, swaying, pausing, and stooping, a classic gait..I grew up watching David, , and this is heartbreaking to see.being a nurse I told all my children, now grown, and a 15 yr old, not everyone who looks drunk, is drunk, don't ever be quick enough to assume that, they may need your help, stroke, diabetes, and yes dear old dementia.dementia is dementia, be it vascular, hereditary, or just dear old age, too many quick to judge

Dementia is cruel and ugly. Watched my beautiful mother in law Fay linger for years with this. This disease not only impacts the sufferer but also their family. To watch someone so vibrant and strong full of life, to go to where she was is heart breaking. Now in peace, however I wish she had peace earlier and not had suffer the fate she did. Until you see this, live this, do not judge. Do not judge because this can be anyone of your family, and let me say watching a loved one, and seeing them linger in a non world is heartbreaking.

An alcoholic saying he didn't drink, please trust me? Gee, what could be suspect about that? This guy had 3 DUI's in 6 years. Anyone else would be in jail. C'mon!

His Father Jack Cassidy suffered from the same affliction

If you read this David, I know exactly how you feel when watching your mother and knowing that there is nothing you can do to help her! My own mother had dementia and I looked after her and watched her get worse and worse! But I don't think that you actually have it! It is the effect of drinking all that alcohol that has caused this in my view love. I will pray with all my heart that you will recover! XX

He'd rather pretend to have dementia than stop drinking.

He admitted during a phone conversation from a documentary shown on A&E, that his dementia was a result of his alcoholism. So sad that he was so admired by so many but the one person he had a hard time impressing was his father. His father was ultimately jealous of David's success.

I've seen dementia and I've seen alcoholism, and in my opinion, alcohol is what is doing the damage. His voice and facial expressions scream "alcohol damage" to me.

this dr. phil is smart, he asked 3 smart questions, first what was the symptom that causexd you to go to doctor, and david cassidy said at home people were saying i told you this yesterday, but i had no memory of that , and doctor phil said and that is why you went to doctor ?! ...also dr phil asked after 2 and a half years of diagnosis how come it has not worsened, also asked him what is your hotel room number, david cassidy remembered instantly, so proving that his short memory is ok ( in full interview)

I bet his dementia is best subcategorized as Lewy Body Dementia. The way he talks, walks, and moves his body is like someone with Lewy Body Disease.

He used to be so good looking. God, what a mess he has become.

He certainly looks and sounds like a chronic alcoholic to me
