Zoom F6: My Mind is Blown 🤯 32 Bit Float Recording in Audio Interface Mode

The Zoom F6 actually can record 32bit float while also acting as an audio interface! My mind was blown when I found out how to do this because I was actually thought that it's impossible for quite some time 🙈.

I'm very glad that I was able to share some information about the F6! I wish Zoom had made this particular function more intuitive to use. Thanks for making this video, I'm favoriting it for when I inevitably forget how to do it again two years from now, and have to search for it on YouTube lol!

Sometimes its a nice surprise when you find out a way to sort something that's been bugging you for a while. Great that a follow YouTuber helped out with your dilemma. I look forward to my own F6 in about 3 weeks. No doubt I will be scratching my head a bit too, especially without having to be precise with gain settings when using 32 bit float. - Regards, Peter.

A bit confusing explanation Chris. Consider this simple scenario: if I connect a microphone to the Zoom F6 that is in turn connected to my MacBook Pro running a DAW (e.g. Nuendo), can the F6 pass a 32 bit signal to the DAW to records or not?

I'm confused by the video actually. The video seems to imply that you 'can' record in 32 bit float in your DAW. But based on the comments below it sounds like it can't. I even tried doing some test yells and it doesn't go in 32 bit float mode in interface mode. Went in 24 and 32 bit mode as well. Didn't change the outcome. You still can't be in 32 bit float in your DAW.

Has the Noise / hiss issue been fixed since? With 3.5mm Output into Camera Mic Inputs?

Hey Chris, your F6 Videos helped me a lot with my gear. Thanks a

I had a issue where I used the F6 as interface in the AIF mode to record a Zoom Call on SD-Card. I also had a backup over Line-Out to my Phone.

Now something magical but curious happened.
The audio on the line out and on the headphones there where our own voice loud and the counterpart over the zoom/laptop quit low volume. But on the SD Card it was the other way around. The Laptop/Zoom-Coubterpart voice were loud and our own voice were more low volume.

Any Idea why this were happening?

Hey Chris, thank you, I am on my Zoom F6 and setting the Dual mode, but when I got back to USB and try to turn on the AIF with record On, I navigate back and the Audio Interface link is then greyed out! Is there any other setting that could still be blocking that from being an option?

the latest firmware update lets you connect in floating point mode in the interface (since July 2023)

Any ideas how I can add delay to the USB output interface? - input delay allows up to 30ms, but my camera HDMI has about 150ms delay, so I'm still short 130ms

When using a camera hop with audio out recorded to camera at line level from the F6, do you know if it's ok to use 32 bit float mode? Thanks
