Grew up in SC my whole life. A lot of hardworking, blue-collar men and women smoke cannabis on a regular basis, and still go to church on Sundays and provide for their families. Why are Republicans so out of touch with their base consistently on this issue? We need a Common Sense Party.

We have to drop the two party system. It is severely hindering our choices, as citizens, on who represents us. Both of these candidates are bound to their respective party (trying to not lose the support/money of the "big party") and you can hear it in their answers and the continued "canned responses" to avoiding other answers.

It isn't just Dr. Andrews or Rep Mace, it is everyone in the system.

Mace's comments on supply not being discussed in committee... shes on the va, oversight, and transportation all have which have put forward legislation addressing supply and the misuse of influence concerning so either she hasn't been serving as representative for us in those committees or is unaware of what is going on around her and there by not representing us in the committees. Guess that's what happens when you miss nearly a third of votes, and spend your time as a partisan trophy on the national stage rather representing your constituents.

Dr. Annie Andrews definitely won this debate and should win this seat. We need a congressman to work for the district and not just have loyalty to a party.

I like the fact that even though they don't agree, they didn't scream each others heads off. I respect both of them for that. I like Nancy's dress.

Don’t say Dr. Andrews doesn’t know how to read. A doctors lexicon is greater than yours. Her Latin, as a doctor, you’ll never know. How dare you not know vernacular. I wouldn’t trust you with a broken toaster

I don't know why this race hasn't been talked about in the news?! I live on the West Coast, and I know who Nancy Mace is. I also this district has become a swing district and a Democrat had this seat before her and before him former governor, Mark Sanford. I think Nancy Mace is one of the more reasonable Republicans, if such a thing still exists, but I also know she'll stick w/her party the majority of the time. I think Dr. Andrews is an impressive candidate and I hope the people in her district take her seriously!

I gotta chime in here (re: 'flooding issues', mentioned/questioned at around the 27-minute mark): "The CITY of Charleston" is located in the 6th congressional district, not the 1st.

While I believe Dr. Andrews won this debate, one thing is for sure and that is that the moderators of this debate lost all control and allowed Ms.Mace to repeatedly interrupt without challenge

I would be VASTLY more impressed if both sides were just to say, "The heck with partisanship! We will work TOGETHER as much as possible to end the American Inquisition! (AKA marijuana prohibition)
