I certainly believe it makes you look younger. I like the look

Beardless for Summer, Bearded for Winter! Also, joining the interested parties for The Manningtree Witches and the Shirley Jackson looks amazing. Agree - the cover is spectacular!

I think your current look makes your eyes stand out more. I'm a bit envious of men who can grow a good looking beard - so if I were you, I'd keep the beard. You are handsome, beard or no beard!
Mircea Cartarescu's books have been on my radar for quite a long time. I'm looking forward to what you think of Nostalgia.

Yup, I think we have all done that accidental shave when trying to trim during lockdown!

it's a good look Eric, but to be honest, your awesome reviews and recommendations are what brings me to your channel

Love your lovely smile with or without your beard...wonderful book reviews thank you Eric. I have just finished The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles a wonderful twist at the end

With or without, both looks work. I used to shave my beard off for summer vacation, otherwise it's been growing since high school. Constant ingrown hairs and razor burn make me quite miserable. I might check out The Lamplighters sometime; sounds good.

The Lamplighters and The Manningtree Witches will hopefully be arriving in my mailbox this week. I think I need that Shirley Jackson! So many interesting books on this list. I have to look into a bunch of these!

"Seven and a Half Lessons about the Brain" sounds super interesting! I just finished "Why we sleep" and would highly recommend that. One of the most enjoyable non-fiction reads for me!

Well, I guess we know you can both rock a beard and no beard. The beard gets my vote but it's your face so you do you. The Manningtree Witches sounds so, so good! Have added many to my wishlist, this is why I don't normally watch hauls 🙈

Gorgeous with or without a beard, but I think the blue of your eyes appears more prominent without 💙

I hadn’t heard of Our Lady of the Nile until watching your video and it’s one that sounds very interesting. I’ve heard a lot about The Manningtree Witches and The Lamplighters and they both sound excellent too.

You definitely look younger, but you didn't look old before. And the beard suited you. The Lamplighters would get my vote for "read next" if it were on my TBR pile.

Beards are always the best! Also, I saw that Joyce Carol Oates made it to the longlist of the Dublin Literary Award and I though at how disappointed you were she was not in the Women's prize, maybe that is a relief? XD I am so excited you picked up the Tsitsi Dangarembga, hopefully you get more out of it this time around. The Shirley Jackson sounds great too.

Definitely keep the new beardless look!

You definitely look younger without a beard and your eyes just pop! You also look great with a beard but of course it's your face so you should go with what you're most comfortable with. Thank you for the great book recommendations, more to add to my as usual growing TBR. 😊

I love your new look Eric! Thank you again for a great new video. I am a huge fan of Shirley Jackson. I just read her novels and stories in The Library of America edition. The editor is, I think you will like this Eric, Joyce Carol Oates.

I love the beard but you look great without it too.
That Shirley Jackson book speaks to me. I know all about dragging chaos from one household to another lol. And I loveeee a lighthouse theme!!! so that book sounds really good as well!!

Ive heard quite a bit about The Manningtree Witches lately and it doesn't seem to be available in Canada yet, which is disappointing. And I like the beard, but Ive always liked a nice beard.

Another great list of books. I have Lady of the Nile to read for April and there are several others on my wish list. 😊💙
