Germans do NOT eat "Senf Kreppel". "Kreppel" is a kind of sugar covered Donut filled with marmalade. Of course we know "Senf Kreppel", but it's absoluteley awful and we serve it only to prank someone at Karneval time. Greetings from Frankfurt ;)

I have had quite a few of those on the list and enjoy them. I had bone marrow soup up near Lhar in the Black Forrest, so delisious!

I already drink Perrier Lime and apple juice. Rum, Coke and orange juice was popular when I was in high school because it was best mixed in a large insulated jug filled with ice. Then it could go anywhere.

It's out of style now but 'Cannibal' sandwiches or steak tar tar was a very common food for men gatherings like clubs or especially bachelor parties. Seasoned and freshly ground beef with onions, pickles, mustards and other condiments as is chosen. Very delicious but must be kept cool.

I know this is an older video but I just saw it. I remember when my father was stationed in Regensburg back in the early '80s drinking Schwip Schwap. I loved it as a kid! Ah the good old days

I wonder why Apfelschorle and Spezi are considered as weird. It's the best thing could ever happen... And I know foreigners hate sparkling water.

I love hearing these "weird" delicacies! You have a lot of knowledge of these foods that are special to you at home! I laughed out loud a couple of times! I would totally try a mustard donut!!

The Fliederbeere is also known as "schwarzer Holunder". Tastes wonderful with semolina dumplings (Griesklößchen)

Caro Landkaffee sounds a lot like Postum. Postum is made with wheat germ and molasses as a coffee alternative introduced by C.W. Post 1895 U.S.

In Saxony Fliederbeersuppe is called Holunderbeersuppe. Very delicious and healthy. Usually we put roasted bread or roll pieces in it.

I grew up in northern Germany and cooked Kale with brain sausage (Bregenwurst) was a normal meal at home. As I found out it was brain, I stopped eating it. At a school friends house, they ate cooked cows tongue one day. I tried a little peace, but I really did not like it. My grandparens also ate pigs head Sülze often, but I never wanted to try that, did not like the smell at all. At least, these other parts of the animal were eaten too and not wasted, but even as a german, I never liked all these strange northern german an unhealthy foods. Mettigel or Hackepeter Igel (raw meat looking like a hedgehog) is not a thing anymore, it was more in the 80s, but it is dying out (I am not sad about thal lol).

Hi Matha! I actually like Sulze, but the one made of chicken or beef. My grandmother used to make it with a lot of garlic and black pepper and even put a hard boiled egg inside. I find that the Sulze made of pork is too hard. Porc I prefer to eat in hot dishes....:) I was in Germany last month and had Schweineshaxe, Schweinebraten, Sauerbraten, 3 types of Knoedel and of course many sausages including the Regensburger at that famous stand with buns with caraway seeds which was excellent...:)
