Cobra Kai is an American martial arts comedy-drama streaming television series and a sequel to the Karate Kid's original movie directed by Robert Mark Kamen. The series was created by Josh Heeld, John Harwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who repeated their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence in the 1984 movie The Karate Kid. Thirty-four years later, the Cobra Kai examines the story of "Miyagi Verse" from Johnny's point of view, his decision to reopen the Cobra Kai Karate Dojo, and the resurgence of his old competition with Daniel. The Cobra Kai also plays Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Mariduena, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Dechenzo, Martin Kove, Vanessa Rubio and Peyton List. This series boasts high ratings on both YouTube and Netflix and has received widespread positive reviews from critics. The third season was also nominated for an "Outstanding Comedy Series" at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. The first season started on YouTube Red in 2018 and the second season continued in 2019. After the production of the third season was completed, YouTube decided to stop producing the original scripted show and leave the show without a house. Netflix acquired the series in June 2020 and released the third season on January 1, 2021. Netflix expanded the series to the fourth season, released on December 31, 2021. The fourth season of the Cobra Kai was released on Netflix on December 31, 2021 and consists of 10 episodes. This series is a direct sequel to the four original films of The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, more than 30 years after the original film. Following the first two seasons on YouTube, Netflix will release the second season. There are 12 protagonists in the season, nine of which are back from the previous season, two are added to the main cast after being repeated in the previous season, and one is a newcomer to the series that repeats the role from the franchise. Nariyoshi Miyagi (Mr. Miyagi) is a fictional karate master in The Karate Kid film series who mentors Daniel LaRusso and Julie Pierce.

Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Sensei Terry Silver is expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his "No Mercy" style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he's caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.

I never doubted u about Barnes returning, when s4 ended I knew he had to return, I thought he would return in S4 but after a while I knew he wouldn’t, glad Barnes is returning looking forward to see his role in S5, even my friends knew he was gonna return

The way it's set up for Barnes, either he has been living a quiet life outside of karate and Silver reaches out to him, Silver will manipulate him and convince him to come back like Kreese did with Silver, or Barnes is in prison and will come face to face with Kreese and Barnes will be released shortly and will get out and get even with Silver.

So originally I always joked that a UFC or MMA fighter would be the most op character in Cobra Kai because they pull from “many styles”, but Terry has hired these fighters and trailers show Johnny bodying them, so I guess i was wrong lol
