"Last moment cries on the radio
It's so hot down here
Crushing metal bloody waters
Same faces everywhere
Now the anger is fading
Now the fight can't go on
We'll always be remembered
We'll always be dismembered"

Hello. I wrote the lyrics for this :) Valerie Jane Steele

Probably my favourite Front 242 song because of the imagery it evokes.

"We will always be dismembered", is a chilling line that always stood out.

The defeated, mystical tone of acceptance in the guy's voice saying it as the other voices fade out to focus on the lead line and drum beat.

It's as if though he knows he'll soon find release from the suffocating nightmare and duty, but that will mean death. Painful, brutal death.

Just gives me this vision of a load of faceless corpses being pulverised / mangled from the pressure in the submarine as it plunges deeper into the murky dark depths of watery hell.

This is the first 242 Song I ever listened to. I got a mixtape from a friend without any track list and the intensity of the song blew me away. However, it drove me crazy as nobody knew the song and who performed it. Plus, there was no Shazam in the late 80s either. At one point, somebody told me that "Don't crash" was a Ministry song, so I started to listen to their albums in the record store. It took me months to finally discover that this was a song by Front 242. What moment of triumph that was. It is still one of my favorite songs of all times.

It amazes me how well Front 242's catalog has aged, they're real artists.

The needle & vinyl dance perfectly along with cadence & rythmus

In the words of Skinny Puppy:
"Play this music loud, or not at all!"

242 is by my opinion a band with the best beats ever, this sound is just a perfection in simplicity . Daddys of Dark electronica.

80s industrial jams don’t get better than this.

This sounds absolutely devastating in a set of M-Audio monitors or a set of AKG cans...

The synth @ 2:56 still haunts me to this day. This will always be my favourite song of all time.

Don’t Crash Lyrics
Days of no horizon
Claustrophobia
Conditioned air

Don't crash - no flowers for you
Don't crash - no regrets

Gushing waters
Forcing it down
Days stars final flicker urging on the break of dawn
Stand fast - voices screech below
Stand fast - no clemency

Panic stricken faces
Diving further down into hell

Don't crash - no flowers for you
Don't crash - no regrets

Timeless terror is taking over
Throbbing hearts and restless bones - melted into one

Stand fast - voices screech below
Stand fast - no clemency

Breath slowly fading
Partly anger - partly stress
Stand fast - air is sparse below
Stand fast - no clemency
Been detected
Losing power
Deeper down we grovel on our sweating bending knees

Don't crash - no flowers for you
Don't crash - no regrets
Last moment cries on the radio
It's so hot down here
Crushing metal bloody waters
Same faces everywhere
Now the anger is fading
Now the fight can't go on
We'll always be remembered
We'll always be dismembered

Days of no horizon...

This song is hard to describe how good it is. My love for it started with being in my local record store and listening to Depeche Mode on headphones as they did at the time when the clerk said - Have you heard the Front 242 group?
I bought this record and then I was stuck it was 34 years ago.

One of the greatest bands ever. THIS is mid-80s Belgian industrial.

it's hard for me to describe how grateful i'm to front 242 for releasing this masterpiece exactly like this. If my soul could only take 10 songs to death, for all eternity, this one was one of them

that buzzsaw grindin FM drone w/bounce bass.. and then that change up with the arp and hi-pitch thick octave sample bed.. that soldier on-like vocal -- so great.. loved it back in late 80s and love it now even more in '20s..

come on they even nail'd the Album cover art ... close up on the CRT ... with thick helvetica
badass

just found it this morning, have listened 11 times in a row so far 😳 its hard to believe its from ‘85. All I remember in that year is the He-Man and Rainbow Brite theme haha. I love it, I must find more 80’s Front 242!!!
