First off: I enjoyed the hell out of Nelson's playing style, similar to my own. 😺👍

My choice is the Meteora, I love the sound of those haymaker humbuckers over the noiseless Jazzmaster's pups. Being a big individual, I don't find the Meteora to be that obnoxious a shape to handle. I bought an Alternate Reality Meteora and modded it to my tastes, it's a fun guitar to bash around on.

Finally, the last out of the box guitar that I liked was the Fender High Country Special that I bought from Wildwood Guitars. Everything about it is choice.

i haven't owned too many but i did recently snag a Gretsch G5420T and it has never left me wanting for more, I did get it Plek'd though so that could be part of its niceness

I snagged a used and abused Epiphone SG with P90s a while back and I *did* change out the bridge for a Savvy from Music City Bridge and now it's basically perfect for what I want out of it, so that's pretty close lol

Did the volume knob cause any issues? The more I look at it, it seems way too close to the rear pickup.

I love Jazzmasters but I gotta go with the Meteora on this one, it just sounds really nice tbh. That price thou! But... Nothing wrong with being boujee every once in a while I right?

Best guitar I've ever played out the box? It a tie between American Performer Jazzmaster and the Squier Affinity HH Jazzmaster

As for these two, I gotta say, I prefer the Jazzmaster. I got to play that model when it released, and the only reason I didn't pick it up was the cost. I love the sound of those pickups and know that I can sculpt them to whatever I want via pedals and EQ.

The Jazzmaster sounded fatter but less clear than the Meteora. The JM was better in the first style and the M was better clean, in the second style. I own a green Player Plus Meteora and it is by far the best guitar I’ve ever played out of the box.

Thanks so much. I’ve been curious about Meteoras for a long time. Btw, I think you guys should compare a Gibson Les Paul to a Meteora. (Not sure if you can get a Les Paul easily. Obviously, a Dave Grohl sig guitar would be a good comparison when you play that riff 😃).
