I own an SR22, and these costs are way too low and many costs are missing. When you factor in things like overhaul ($60K on a Cirrus), parachute replacement ($1, 600 per year), insurance (near $3, 000 and I’m IFR rated), the total including depreciation is more like $500 / hour. Anything much less than this is missing expenses.

I appreciate the insight on what I could expect before purchasing a Cessna 150/152.

However I must ask, is insurance required for aircraft?

This doesn't address the cost between the cessna 172 vs cirrus sr22. Not really helpful you might want to remove that from the title.
