Why not use Spotify function "Start a jam"? We use it 😊

My soft flex: Tv Time scene. Blinds down, lights dim/off, tv on.

When you first said node red for a dashboard I was expect pretty jank but ke laved the day!
Tileboard was gonna be my suggestion for you an it's a nice clean, pretty configurable tool.
Either way love it, I'm actually planning to setup home music thing and do nome esp speakers hopefully.

100% you can do anything in home assistant. it's not always easy, or straight forward. but it's an entire programming language with enough experience.

Curious about the requirement that it's not active when guests are over; If it's worth doing, you'd think you'd want to benefit from it yourself as well, right?

It's always interesting seeing what people do for automation in the bathroom. It seems like a dangerous/slippery slope; I don't want my guests to feel how I think most people would: when tech makes itself known in the bathroom, the understandable question immediately comes up "am I being watched/listened to?" Finding a motion sensor to automate lights and fans that very much doesn't look like a camera to the point where it screams "hey I'm not a camera!" was a challenge haha!

Regarding Spotify, "start a jam" doesn't require anyone to be on your account at all. Just print out a QR code with the jam invite, and it can be used by up to 32 people. I think this cares for 90% of the problem, leaving everyone able to use their own device comfortably. I think starting there, and then enhancing the jam's queue with a tablet view to allow you to add songs for the few people who don't have Spotify installed to participate would be a good way to go.

Really love where you are going with this. HA needs to figure out granular user permissions. My dashboards should have a limited guest access, etc. I know some of it is on the roadmap or has been in HA.

What's your warning mode entail?

So far with my house modes (I used to have all these in boolean toggles, not sure what i was thinking there) I have Active, Cinema, Do Not Disturb which holds all TTS announcements, Event (This is for lighting when i dont want it to change) Nightowl which delays all home shutdown procedures, Protected which is like away mode. Sleep which is similar to do not disturb but also turns all the screens off and streaming which engages a streaming light background and disables office automated lighting.

Maybe too many but so far so good

Seems like if there is music playing in the den that if someone goes into the bathroom, it would be playing the same (if there isn't anything playing in the den, then play whatever) ? and if so desired, stop when they leave the bathroom (if you can add/remove the speaker that way).

Do you ever run into issues with the House Mode being a single option, rather than booleans for Guest Mode and/or protected etc? Can your house ever be in two states, such as sleep with guests over?
