It's the documentary many students at the University of Alabama didn't want you to see. HBO Max's "Bama Rush" follows four young women who want to join a sorority. In 2021, #bamarush went viral after women showed off what they were wearing during rush week at the University of Alabama. As word spread that the documentary was filming on campus, there were fears that some of the young ladies rushing were secretly recording. Inside Edition's Alison Hall has more.

Imagine having a daughter and her number one dream in college is to get into a sorority ☠️☠️☠️

I knew the mixed girl wouldn't go through with it. She was way too chill and laid back. Good for her.

I find the whole idea of sororities bizarre…everyone should be able to think for themselves, choose what they want to do, what they believe in and choose who you want to be friends with!!! I never had any interest in a sorority and had an awesome college life!!!

Speaking as an old white lady from the North I think the whole deal of a sorority is one of the most racist and anti-emetic and snobbish bunch of women and men too. So that is what people go to college for. And I always thought it was to get a degree.

“I’m going to have to ask you to, like, leave.” It’s not LIKE leaving; it fg IS leaving. STOP SAYING LIKE when it’s not fg necessary.

After they get selected, spectators line up the streets to watch them run back to their new sorority houses. So weird and cringey.

Reprter asks, "Why the secrecy?" Well, idk if it happened here or not, but if someone was secretly recording me for an HBO documentary, I don't think I would be thrilled to find that out.

This is not new. You will spend more money than tuition.

i was excited for weeks to watch the documentary but disappointed after seeing it when they barely dove into more aspects of greek life and focusing on completely irrelevant things. it genuinely looked like they had no footage to work with and i know it was supposed to highlight the negative parts of greek life but it barely did that. also the director was acting like she was oppressed for having alopecia and don’t get me wrong, i imagine that can be hard, but it is not the biggest issue in the world so i did not understand that at all lol. i wish they uncovered stuff like hazing too but really only showed 90% of girls’ decisions to sororities and 10% negative parts

This film started okay and had potential but landed flat, imo. I stopped watching around 30 minutes in. No one knows or cares who the director is and her inserting bits of her life story in every 5 minutes just made it awkward and flow badly. The girls they chose to follow were just weird in their motives or personalities and a couple of them seemed truly insufferable. Almost like the film was trying to be a hit piece in a way. It was just all over the place and didn't cover the experience rushing or pledging well at all.

They should start their own anti sorority. All refuse hair bleach and dress in ways to annoy them prissy ones. Like wear a swimsuit over pants or mismatched clothes with crooked hair.

I wanted them to go deeper, especially into The Machine but I got totally irrelevant information about the director dealing with her alopecia. I don't think her commentary fit well with the topic of the documentary. Felt like it veered of the topic of these sorority houses.
