ICSI Procedure Explained | Science at Boston IVF

Показать описание
What you are seeing here is an intricate lab procedure called Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
Before sperm can fertilize an egg, it must first find a way inside, and sometimes that’s not possible due to its overall quality + other factors. In this scenario, ICSI (later paired with IVF) gives sperm that extra nudge to do its job! During ICSI, as seen in this video, a tiny needle (micropipette) breaks through the egg wall to inject a single sperm into the center of the egg.
Boston IVF was the 1st fertility center in New England to assist in an IVF pregnancy & birth via ICSI!
