There's an uproar about the challenges facing the National Schools Nutrition Programme in KwaZulu-Natal. Learners at over 5 000 schools in the province are without food since they re-opened due to an alleged failure to deliver food items by a new supplier hired by the education department. It is believed that the problems emerged with the appointment of a new supplier. Yesterday, the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga intervened in the matter demanding all tender documents related to the failing R2.1 billion KwaZulu-Natal feeding scheme. To discuss this matter further we're joined on the line by the secretary of KwaZulu-Natal Nutrition Business Forum Sizwe Zondi, We did extend an invitation to KZN basic education and the Premier's office and this is what the Premier had to say.
