Tottenham ● Road to the Final - 2019

In 2019 Tottenham Hotspur managed to reach the Champions League final for the very first time in their history. Unbelievable comeback against Ajax sealed their first appearance in the final. Unfortunately they were beaten by Liverpool. Enjoy!

Why did Tottenham go through? The rules for tiebreakers is the following. 1. Both Inter and Tottenham have 8 points. 2. The goal difference in head to head games is the same. Tottenham won 2-1 and Inter won 1-0, so goal difference is 0. 3. Since it is still a tie the rules state that the team with the most head to head away goals goes through. Tottenham scored 1 away goal. Inter Milan didn't score a single away goal against Tottenham. That's why Tottenham went through to the next round.

Here in Brazil, I remember that we all got happy for Alisson, Firmino and Fabinho. But we also felt so sorry for Lucas Moura. I still can't believe Pochettino left him in the bench .

The 2018-2019 UCL was just amazing. Messi was at his prime, there were a lot of comebacks, many wonderful goals were scored and even though I'm a Barca fan this is my favourite UCL campaign.

I still remember that incredible journey as a Tottenham fan. Then we experienced a bit downfall until Conte coming in as manager and now back in the Champions League this season. Also crazy to think Eriksen would play for Inter Milan later and Perisic now at Tottenham back then.

I’m a Liverpool fan but I watched the second leg of spurs vs Ajax live and when Moura slotted in that 95th minute winner I was completely shocked and pumped up. Moments like that transcend rivalries sometimes!
