I want to add one one thing
Delete and truncate. Delete just delete the rows and new value inserted will be from the next incremented value.
Truncate reset the index as well. new value inserted will be from 1

Sir....! If I'm not wrong varchar and varchar2 both sizes are not same. varchar datatype is used to store upto 2000 character where as varchar2 datatype is used to store upto 4000 characters in their particular memory allocation.
