I’m fifty and since my first real bike as a teenager have had 43 bikes that I can count. My Spur is far and away the best mountain bike I’ve ever had and it isn’t even close. That includes the other Transitions I’ve had (Scout, Patrol, Vanquish etc). Great choice in frameset. I know you love your previous ones, it’s such a great bike.

The purple frame, the black components, and the chrome accents look so perfectly matched!

Hey Clint… nice build! If I was going to name this bike, I would call it Barney…

One fine point, I made a small flexible plastic flap to cover the gap between the seat tube and swing arm. This prevents rocks from lodging here, where they could crack or damage the carbon. I made this out of an old front fender. The flap is attached above with 3M double sided mounting tape and a single zip tie. The bottom floats with the swing arm.

Transition should do this. My wife’s Ripley has a flap in this location.

Yup, those are the X0 cranks which is MTB wide spacing aka 55mm chainline so you definitely need 3mm NDS/7.5mm DS BB spacers.

Wow! Amazing looking bike. I'm still black on black for my stuff, but the silver accents really pop. Great choice!

Just brought home a purple smuggler yesterday. Debated Spur vs smuggler even during purchase. I love both purples. They are slightly different.

Hey Clint I’d suggest using a fidlock bottle holder, just look it up it’s awesome. I don’t think I’d go back to water bottle cages especially on smaller triangle frames. Or if you never scratch your frame with your water bottle cage disregard this post. Great looking build!

Stem is awesome! I'm considering the Pivot Mach 4SL, but that bike looks great

In my opinion, I think bike companies need to stop making purple bikes. Otherwise, I'm going to run out of money. What a beaut.

I think gold would look better than the silver.. Gonna be building up a dream build myself same color with Rock shock Pike ultimate with buttercup set of 130 mm. I’m also mixing sram transmission derailer with the old style Sram cassette and chain. People will tell you it doesn’t work and it’s not compatible. It works perfectly. That way, I can do my gold XX one cassette. Maybe doing bird wheels also with Berd Spokes.

I have kept all of my rigid setposts to use as a dummy post so I can mount the bike in the stand.

If you have a regular non-dropper seatpost of the same size you can put it in with the cable going up inside it, then you can clamp it in the stand that way. or if it’s 31.9 maybe inch and a quarter pipe.

Do you prefer the Fox shock over the Ohlins ttx1? I currently have a Spur with a SidLuxe, but I need something with better support. My Spur is a bit more aggressive build with a 120mm Pike Ultimate, Shimano XT 4 piston 200/180 brakes, MagicMary/HansDampf tyres, etc. A great bike! The shortest travel trail bike I have ever owned, but probably the most fun one. The light weight and agile ride reminds me of my 4X race bikes from 20 years ago :)

Looking great!! Curious did Transition supply any plugs for the cable ports you did not use due to AXS? AXS dropper collar is also silver and would match the Stem and hubs. twist twist..lol
